RESOLVED

that the minutes of the meeting of the Committee held on 28 June 2022 be

received and approved as a correct record.

Committee Members were updated on the current position relating to the Sutton-in-Ashfield Recreation Grounds 2006 Charitable Trust in respect of the exchange of land, appointment of a second trustee, land valuation issues and land issues.

A second trustee was required for the land swap and Mr. Roger Pratt had been identified who would act independently of the Council, as required by the Chairty Commission.

The next steps would involve obtaining a valuation for the land to be exchanged and this figure would then be submitted to the Charity Commission for approval, thus allowing the Council to progress accordingly.

RESOLVED that

a)    a Valuer be instructed to prepare an up-to-date land valuation report in respect of the exchange of land;

b)    it be noted that a second Trustee (Roger Pratt) has been appointed to the Sutton-in Ashfield Recreation Grounds 2006 Charitable Trust;

c)    the title to the shale area at the north of the Sutton Lawn site be registered in the names of the two Trustees, Ashfield District Council and Roger Pratt.
