No specific interests were received but a general declaration was noted for all Members present, due to their knowledge of candidates for the post of Chief Executive/Head of Paid Service.

RESOLVED

that the minutes of the meeting of the Committee held on 19 March 2021, be

received and approved as a correct record.

CO.3

Section 100A Local Government Act 1972; Exclusion of Press and Public

A Member of the Committee is asked to move:-

 

“That in accordance with the provisions of Section 100A of the Local Government Act 1972, the press and public be now excluded from the meeting during the following item of business on the grounds that it involves the likely disclosure of exempt information as defined in paragraph 1 of part 1 of Schedule 12A of the Act and in respect of which the Proper Officer considers the public interest in maintaining the exemption outweighs the public interest in disclosing the information.”

 

Minutes:

RESOLVED

that in accordance with the provisions of Section 100A of the Local Government Act 1972, the press and public be now excluded from the meeting during the following item of business on the grounds that it involves the likely disclosure of exempt information as defined in paragraph 1 of part 1 of Schedule 12A of the Act and in respect of which the Proper Officer considers the public interest in maintaining the exemption outweighs the public interest in disclosing the information.

Interviews for the position of Chief Executive/Head of Paid Service

Minutes:

Members considered and agreed the process for conducting the interviews, including questions and other aspects relevant to a full and transparent interview for each candidate.

 

The Committee then conducted the interviews, with an adjournment for lunch between 12.30pm and 1.15pm.

 

Following on from the interviews, the Committee unanimously agreed that Theresa Hodgkinson be nominated as the preferred candidate and that her appointment as Chief Executive/Head of Paid Service be recommended to Council.

 

RESOLVED

that the Chief Officers Employment Committee recommends to Council that Theresa Hodgkinson be appointed Chief Executive/Head of Paid Service of the Authority.
