Overview and Scrutiny Statutory Guidance PDF 101 KB Additional documents: Minutes: The Service Manager for Governance presented the recently published statutory guidance from the Department for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities (DLUHC) titled ‘Overview and Scrutiny: Statutory Guidance for Councils, Combined Authorities and Combined County Authorities. The guidance had been submitted to the June meeting of the committee but due to time constraints following a busy agenda, it was agreed to resubmit the item to the September meeting for consideration.
Members acknowledged the importance of the Principal Select Committee, with responsibility for management of the Council’s Overview and Scrutiny function, being kept up to date with the latest statutory guidance and best practices. and they took the opportunity to discuss the content accordingly.
RESOLVED that having considered the content of the DLUHC Overview and Scrutiny: Statutory Guidance for Councils, Combined Authorities and Combined County Authorities, the document be received, noted and welcomed. |

Select Committee Work Programme PDF 120 KB Minutes: The Service Manager for Governance updated Members in respect of progress against the previously agreed Work Programme for 2024/25 with a request to consider the inclusion of four new topics in respect of the following:
Fleet Strategy Review Invitation to contribute to the upcoming review of the Council’s Fleet Strategy.
Bridges - Teversal and Skegby Trails To contribute to the ongoing corporate project relating to Bridges located along the Teversal and Skegby Trails.
Selective Licensing Update To receive an update on how the Scheme has been performing since its reintroduction.
Aids and Adaptations Policy To assist with the review of the Council’s Aids and Adaptations Policy.
Tree Maintenance To review how the Council currently maintains its trees on Council owned land.
RESOLVED that the updated Select Work Programme be agreed and progressed as follows:
